Kendriya Vidyalaya Ghazipur was established in 1986, in the premises of Govt. Opium & Alkaloid Works Ghazipur on the bank of river Ganga. This vidyalaya is running under civil sector. Since the Govt. Opium & Alkaloid Works Ghazipur provided its building and land for running the vidyalaya, the Chairman of the VMC remains the General Manager of the Govt. Opium factory. In the very beginning it started with primary classes. Now it is upto class 12 with Science & Commerce Stream.
